Innistrad drafts away!

Oct 20, 2011 No Comments by

Long wait is finally over, Innistrad got released on Magic online! As usual, we had overexpensive sealed and drafts in the beginning of the prerelease season, and now regular 8-4, 4-3-2-2 and swiss drafts are here for everyone to enjoy.

I already played couple of them and today you have the opportunity to see my very first online Innistrad draft. Coincidence or not, I played exact same color combination as I did in my first 2 IRL drafts, with slight difference of black splash for flashbacked Forbidden Alchemy.

I wanna take a second here to discuss Forbidden Alchemy for a moment. This card is so strong it’s not even funny. No, it’s not one of those bomby cards you play and then win the game straight away, it’s not THAT obvious. You’ll “just” place 1 best card in your hand and fill your graveyard with necessary creatures/flashback cards/whatever you need and gain so much advantage with only one card it’s going to be hard for them to come back. And later, if everything goes wrong, you can do it one more time. Card worth of a black splash, if you ask me.

And now, let’s move onto my draft:

[as always, follow "show pick" and "next pick" path to see all my picks, and ideas and thoughts behind them]

And, as always, all my picks through all 3 boosters:

And finally, my deck the way I build it (click on the picture to enlarge it):

About the author

My M:tG career is not too long: my first prerelease was Xth core edition, so I've been playing for about 4 years now. As I started playing I've been enchanted by it and been playing it avidly since, but unlike majority of Magic players I’m interested in all sorts of TCG’s so you can expect articles and reviews about at least dozen other games here on TCGHell! Stay tuned!
